FAQs

  • 1-1 tutoring sessions are an hour long. You may think your child can’t work this long but the time is broken up into smaller chunks and we have fun “brain brakes”. Everything is tailored to your individual child.

  • After an initial conversation with the parents/carers, the first session with your child will be one where we get to know each other and where I can make some initial assessments. It will be all about making your child feel comfortable with me and alleviating their fears.

  • Yes, I specalise in Maths and English but am able to help support your child in other areas of the curriculum. If you are interested in this, please let me know and we can work out a plan.

  • Life happens, so as long as you let me know with 12 hours notice, there will be no charge. But if you cancel last minute, I will have to charge for the session.

  • I am not going to set homework, but if there are ways to help your child during the week, then I will talk to you after the session. Sometimes, having post-it notes on the fridge or quick flash cards can help reinforce the information.

  • It really helps to reinforce what your child is learning at school and even pre-teaching before they learn it in school, so do tell me what they are struggling with, what their teacher says is their stumbling block or what they are going to be covering in the coming term. I am happy to receive copies of their last report, photocopies of classwork if it shows what they can and can’t do and and any information from the school.
